I’ve never taken a lot of travel photos. Mostly because I don’t think I’m very good at them, and also I tend to get caught up in the enjoyment of experiencing new cultures that I simply forget. However, this trip was different. Vietnam has got to be one of the most beautiful places on earth, and my good mate Oliver and I decided late in 2015 that we were keen to set off on an adventure. I’m going to let the below photos speak for themselves but this represents a selection of images from trekking in Phú Lương, cycling / kayaking in Cúc Phương near Ninh Binh, more trekking in the high country at Sa Pa (where we nearly froze to death in temperatures down to -1C!), a boat cruise at Ha Long Bay, and finally a train journey down to Hội An where we spent the last three days of our two week trip. Enjoy!
For the photographers – this is about 80% film, shot with a Canon A1 & 50mm lens using a variety of cheap consumer Kodak & Fuji films. The rest I shot on my trusty Fujifilm X100s.
