Welcome!

My name is Levi Gardner and I've been shooting weddings for about two years.

My approach to wedding photography is simple and unique. I don't claim to be another wedding photographer. Anybody with a camera can show up at a wedding and claim to be a wedding photographer. That is why I prefer to differentiate myself as a wedding artist.

I'm a firm believer that wedding photography is moving away from the trend of strict photojournalism and back towards more posed, romantic images which will last a lifetime. Of course, the nature of the day calls for an element of photojournalism and this is reflected in my photographs of the preparations, the ceremony, and the reception. However during the formal shoot, I will direct and compose to create and capture the emotion that is present between you and your love on the wedding day.

Please get in contact if you would like a quote or for any enquiries.

A cable, a model, 4 weddings, a lens, a trip to Czech, and a blog post…

Four months goes fast… especially when big things happen during those months. I’m talking really big things. Huge things. Like getting a new lens for example. Yeah I’m pretty excited about it! I think any photographer with a slightly nerdy side would be stoked to finally get their first L series prime. So the 50mm f/1.2 will be getting a lot of use from me from now on. Next up, a 24mm f/1.4, then… the world.

Speaking of the world, I can now connect to it a lot better. The title of this post mentions a cable. Last night I got my internet connection finally after three or so months of *pleasant negotiations* with telephone and internet companies, with little success, and sometimes little money. But that’s in the past because now, I can post again.

Over summer I photographed the weddings of Chappo & Bethany, Scott & Amy, and Laiton & Kayla. Recently I had the opportunity to photograph a wedding for some amazing people called Smiley & Arvina. Arvina is Indian and was dressed up in traditional Indian wedding garments – it was a delight to be able to capture their day. There will be blog posts to follow.

In some other very exciting news, in a week and a half I’ll be off to Czech Republic to photograph another wedding. I’m over the moon and humbled to have the privelege to shoot Ben and Lenka’s day in the tiny steelworks town of TÅ™inec, in the Moravian-Silesian region of far-eastern Czech. I can’t wait to share pictures and experiences here on the blog.

For now, here’s a sneak peak of a recent model shoot I did with a friend…

See you soon Internet!
